About Legislative Assembly of British Columbia

Welcome to the Parliament Buildings, home to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia where elected representatives – called Members of the Legislative Assembly or MLAs – meet to shape the future of the province by debating and passing the laws that govern British Columbia. Now known as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, these Coast Salish people have a rich culture and history dating back thousands of years.

Visited today, was a cool experience and I’d recommend visiting for anyone interested in seeing the beautiful architecture or just seeing how it all runs. Absolutely stunning interior, the stained glass windows and the beautiful moldings and high ceilings really add to the atmosphere. The tour was pretty informative, Nicholas seemed to know his facts and was able to answer all of the questions asked. Keep in mind that this is a running government building so in some areas photography isn’t allowed. Those working seemed pretty friendly however, and didn’t mind the hoards of people touring the building which was certainly appreciated. Worth a visit for the architecture!

Visiting the Parliament Buildings of British Columbia was an incredible experience. I joined one of the guided tours, and it was both engaging and highly informative. The guide did a fantastic job of explaining not only the history of the building and its architecture, but also providing insights into how our provincial legislation actually works. It was fascinating to stand in the very place where laws are debated and passed. What I really appreciated was how welcoming the experience felt. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions, take photos, and truly take in the atmosphere of this important institution. The tour flowed smoothly and struck a great balance between historical context and present-day relevance. The grounds themselves are stunning with beautiful architecture paired with well-kept gardens makes the Parliament a landmark worth visiting whether you’re a local or a tourist. The gift shop also had a thoughtful selection of locally inspired items, which made it easy to take a meaningful souvenir home. Overall, I would highly recommend a tour here to anyone visiting Victoria. It’s not only a chance to see a beautiful heritage building up close, but also to better understand the democratic process in British Columbia. A truly enriching and memorable visit.

The Parliament building is a must visit when ever you are in Victoria. The beauty of this place is surreal, quite easy to get in through security and a lot to see. The architecture of this building is the main attraction. Everything is so well kept. The green environment outside the building is really beautiful. A must visit place to know about our history.

The parliament building in Victoria downtown is a great place to visit and explore. It is accessible and needs prior booking inside tour. It has a restaurant that needs to be booked by someone affiliated with BC ministry.

The Parliament Building in downtown Victoria is absolutely stunning and a must-see when visiting the city. The architecture is beautiful, with so much history and detail to admire, especially when it’s lit up at night. The grounds are spacious and well-kept, making it a lovely spot for a walk or photos. It’s also conveniently located near the Inner Harbour and other attractions. Whether you join a tour or just admire it from outside, the Parliament Building is a highlight of Victoria!
