Even if you arrive 30 min before appointment be prepared that you will be spending lots of time just looking for a right direction to go. Instead of having an information desk at the entrance you have to ask different people, follow such paper note instructions, etc. Blood work collection office have time breaks between 10:00 - 10:30 and 12:00 - 12:30, which just ridiculous as service should be provided 24 hours for emergency care. The word ‘emergency’ has different meaning here, be prepared to spend hours of waiting time and pray you will get help.

Spent 24 hours waiting in the ER with a devastating pain in my neck while I saw a guy with his fingers hanging off waiting just as long. Nurses sat down and watched TikTok and looked like they couldn’t care less if you dropped dead in the ER. I highly recommended going here if you have some kind of masochistic fantasy and/or like being treated as less than human.

Very disappointing experience. Waited 7–8 hours on the first day and another 8–9 hours on the second day, and still couldn’t get seen. I understand emergencies are prioritized, but waiting 15+ hours over two days is extremely frustrating. The hospital seriously needs to improve its emergency wait times and patient communication.

Unfortunately the quality of health care service has gone down over the past few months . It’s 100% process related with a choppy introduction of a new electronic medical system and happening during time when I have more than a year of dying with cancer and having a direct elderly parent who also has cancer care for me with cancer that could kill me in the next few months . I am grateful for the top notch end of life ,oncology and neurology care I have received from dr Stephanie Stephanie pomeroy , dr Kara Laing , dr Roger Avery , dr Susan MacDonald and the many healthcare professionals whose names I know dearly but I no space on here to list . You have not only extended my life but you have given more time to spend with the few loved ones I have left . So I have had a bad month due to my illness but I try not to forget the good things Newfoundland health service and the biggest one is the people who work in it . Thank you for all you do .

I set up an appointment with dr. Shane Arsenault back on December 1st of last year. Was promised that Id be set up for a drug trial, signed up for the newfoundland drug plan and have my blood test completed to find out what was wrong with me in addition to the autoimmune disorder that I had. Since then he's not called me once. He hasn't filed the forms for the drug trial or for my prescription drug plan to be covered. Hes held onto the results of the blood test for that same time and refuses to either call me back or even provide basic empathy to everything happening. He made me feel like I finally found a doctor that cared and that maybe my life would return to some semblance of normal but then completely dashed that hope by not returning any calls or doing his job. At this point im not sure if things will get better or if I have to find a way to get another neurologist who actually cares about the well being of his patients health or finances. Id probably recommend a different neurologist to anyone unfortunate enough to be referred here.
