Got very sick while working in Yellowknife during the winter spent over a week in the hospital nurses were very nice and the Dr listened and sent a referral back to Edmonton and had procedure done within a reasonable time frame without that would’ve been months long wait thank you for taking care of me I’ll never forget it. Care like that is hard to come by I stayed on floor #5 and remember Doug Christine Linda and Lyndsey Thank you again
I was here recently for gallstones from Hay River and one of the nurses I had was incredible. She got me two warm blankets and one warm blanket for my husband when we were there so so late at night and remembered that I like the light off. She also didn't tease me when I called them 'blankeys'. I think she recognized my autism and did her best to make us feel safe and taken care of. I cannot remember her name but all the nurses and doctors here made me feel very safe and prioritized even though there were so many of us.
I wish to thank Dr Affleck and all the nurses, especially those who cared for me during my 3 day stay in emerg before being moved to a regular room. On December 20th I was taken to the emergency department suffering from a lack of breath and difficulty standing or communicating. I was quickly attended to and moved to a private room within emerg, where I was diagnosed with double pneumonia and the flu. Thanks to the prompt attention, by the medical staff and their excellent care, I was able to return to family 4 days later in Yellowknife to celebrate Christmas. This hospital and its staff are a 10/10!
I am visiting from Alberta and was just discharged from A 2 week stay at Stanton. I very impressed with the level of care, and compassion of all staff, and the respect shown to patients. Staff were attentive and looking at what could be done to enhance comfort. It’s a busy place for sure but I saw a lot of cooperation and team work. I was happy with the food service variety. Just want to say that our hospitals down south could learn a thing or 2 about patient focused care. Thank you for the excellent care.
